ive begun my one-year bible reading plan!! yayyyyy! thanks to joe for helping me get it man. read about tower of Babel today. and thanks to my dad's study bible ive learnt more about it than in the past where i just read the verses. everyone knows it was because of this tower that God decided to confound the languages of the post-Flood pple and scatter them abroad. but there's stuff much deeper than that. especially human pride. rebellion. disobedience to God.
in their endeavor to build the tower, Nimrod led his pple in an act of disobedience agst God by building a tower to represent the greatness of their abilities and enhance their fame. in this way, they attempted to take God's glory and honour for themselves. in life today we dont build altars or monuments. but true enough. sometimes we do forget. in our haste to win, to do well, to succeed, to serve. we forget that everything is for His glory and whatever we do, has to glorify His name. how often are our own actions, speech and behaviour glorifying to Him? can we truly say that everything we do, say and show is indeed that way? we're no doubt sinners. and conceived in sin. that's y Jesus came preaching.."Repent: for the kingdom of heaven is at hand." - Matt 4:17 :)
